About John Todd
![]() |
Fresh off the plane from Edmonton with his wife and four young daughters, John Todd opened Marks Supply Inc. in 1962. From the humble beginnings of an office, a storage shed, one employee and a truck, John grew Marks Supply into a profitable business with $8 million in sales and four branches. In 1995 he sold his company to his youngest daughter, Robin, but still arrived at the office every day to work on his computer, manage his holdings, and chat with the staff. |
In November 2001 John died at home after a three-year battle with lung cancer. A long time employee, Dave Rourke, came up with the John Todd Invitational Golf Tournament idea to honour the man who started it all. At the first tournament in 2002 we hosted 35 players and raised just under $1000 for the Canadian Cancer Society. Since then the annual invitational has blossomed into an event that is sold-out every year and has contributing more than $117,000 to the Canadian Cancer Society and KidsAbility. |

The strongest companies in our industry came out to support our Annual John Todd Invitational Golf Tournament. While others may talk of economic doom and gloom to no one’s benefit, the best and brightest showed up to network, create opportunities and donate to a great cause – KidsAbility Centre for Child Development.
Thank you to our best customers and suppliers, who spent the day strengthening relationships and having fun. We are honoured that you chose to attend this event.
We are grateful to grow and prosper with you.
Enjoy your summer!
